| The PSP (Polícia de Segurança Pública) wear blue uniforms and are generally responsible for policing towns and cities. Outside the urban areas, policing is usually in the hands of the GNR (Guarda Nacional Republicana) who also supervise roads and motorways. They are readily recognisable from their distinctive forage caps, dark blue jackets, grey trousers and knee length boots. |
